Unapproved dump/open dump and unauthorized dump files, 1985-[ongoing].

"Any open dump or unauthorized dump shall be considered by the Board and Local Health Officer to constitute a nuisance menacing public health and to be unlawful by virtue of the authority as enumerated in the Code of Alabama, 1975,... Sections 22-10-1 through 22-10-3....." (AAC, 420-3-5-.07). This series consists of unapproved dump/open dump and unauthorized dump files created by both the county health departments and the Department of Public Health. Typical records which may be located in these files include illegal dump survey checklists, photographs, copies of maps, correspondence, and conversation records. They majority of the files in this series are either empty or only contain a photograph of the illegal dump.
